About the story
Long before William became the Conqueror, he was simply Willy: a boy duke surrounded by danger, difficult nobles, and far too many arguments. Fortunately, he was not entirely alone. Monsieur Le Twigg was a very small white bear of mysterious origins who rarely explained where he came from, never appeared to walk anywhere, and always seemed to be present when he was needed most. Set in eleventh-century Normandy, Willy and Twigg blends real people and events with warmth, gentle humour, and the enduring belief that kindness can be a form of courage.
